Principal Imel's Monday Message 5/4/2020

REMOTE LEARNING:  As per our superintendent, remote learning will be in effect until June 3rd, the last day of school on the master calendar.

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK:  This week, May 4th - 8th, is the national, as well as Colorado's, teacher appreciation week.  Let's show our Fort Lewis Mesa teachers and staff how much we value them and the work they do.  Since we can't express our gratitude in person, let's find ways to thank them remotely such as an email, a call, or a photo from your family.  Remind them how amazing they are!

PERSONAL BELONGING PICK UP:  In the next few weeks, we will set up a schedule for students and families to pick up personal belongings.  Stay tuned for more information.

SAFE TO TELL:  Safe2Tell Colorado gives parents and students a safe, anonymous say to help someone who is struggling or hurting.  If you are concerned about a student or adult, call 1-877-542-7233 to make a report.

CHECKS FOR UNDERSTANDING:  Teachers are collecting two pieces of evidence, or checks for understanding, each week.  These are used for giving your child grades in the fourth quarter.  If you are struggling to keep up with the amount of school work, please contact your child's teacher during office hours.  We are here to support you.

Although we miss seeing our incredible students, thank you for doing your part to keep our community safe.  These times are not easy but we appreciate our FLME community for working hard and engaging in remote learning.

I am lucky to be your principal!
