Durango High School’s Troupe 1096 kicks off its 2025-26 theater season with the beloved musical "Once Upon a Mattress," a playful spin on the fairy tale "The Princess and the Pea.”
Performances will run Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 6-8 and Nov. 13-15, featuring Princess Winnifred, a swamp princess whose honesty and charm help her pass the Queen’s elaborate “sensitivity test” and bring joy back to the kingdom. The show, written by Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller, and Marshall Barer, features music by Mary Rogers and lyrics by Marshall Barer.
