About Our School

At Fort Lewis Mesa Elementary, we take pride in our strong sense of community. We encourage programs that bring all grade levels together and strengthen the bond between students, parents and staff members. As a learning community, we provide our students with life-long learning skills, strong academics, and an understanding of respect for self and others, in a collaborative and nurturing environment. This has helped us become a top-performing school in closing the achievement gap, and to be recognized two years in a row with the Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award, an award given to schools that demonstrate exceptional student growth.
