Fort Lewis Mesa PTO

PTO meetings are scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month from 3:00pm-4:00pm in the conference room at FLM.

Please join us and bring your thoughts and ideas for fun and creative ways to get involved in our kids’ school and education!


What a wonderful event the 2016 Fort Lewis Mesa Carnival turned out to be and we could not have done it without the incredible support of so many. A huge thanks to those room parents who called, begged and pleaded for things, and set up those fabulous rooms. Pre-school room mom Stephanie Sherman led you on a toilet plunger race ending in Frankenstein’s boogers. The ever popular Kindergarten cake walk was a splashing success thanks to Julie Romero, Erin Schumacher, and Melissa Mathews. The 1st grade Hocus Pocus room was out of this world thanks to Candice Wood and her sister Kate. The Halloween themed carnival games were wonderfully provided by 2nd grade room mom Danielle Kirkpatrick. We were tickled and pickled at the Witches Pantry and Broom golf thanks to third grade room moms Angela Elworthy & Candice Eidenschink. The fourth grade bottle toss and basketball was a huge success thanks to stand in room mom Christin Hawbaker. A special thanks to Jeannine Glasby and helpers for the wonderful face painting. The Crazy pet house was fun and exciting thanks to Heather Peine and her nephew for bringing in all those wonderful pets. The Wood Family served their fabulous food in the kitchen with help from the fifth grade parents and students. Thank you so much Molinda Wood for all of your hard work in the kitchen. Other people who were invaluable in making the carnival such a success were Jennifer Halphen and Cassie Walters for lots of odds and ends, including all the bingo baskets and prices throughout the carnival. The haunted house was made memorable by taking us down the yellow brick road with Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. We can’t thank Kay Woodworth and Amanda Sauer enough for all their hard work putting that together. The book walk was a great addition and couldn’t have happened without the special help from or wonderful public librarian Chris Conrad. Also, a great big thanks to Karen Gray for selling tickets at the door and Sue Ullom for calling bingo numbers. The raffle was a huge success with a special thanks to Angela Elworthy and Heather Peine for taking the time to gather all those prizes. We also couldn’t have done this without the help of each and every one of you who sold tickets and came to the carnival to have fun. Together with the help of so many we were able to earn $3862.45.
