2022-23 Academic Calendar Survey

The Durango School District 9-R seeks community feedback and input as a final Academic Calendar for the 2021/22 school year is adopted.
In this survey, two calendars are presented.
Please submit your response by January 19, 2022.

Business Development Survey - Bond to Business Initiative

Our community supported the 4A Bond ballot initiative, infusing the Durango School District 9-R with $90M in funding for capital projects and improvements. Part of the promise to the community included engagement and support of local businesses and vendors in the bond projects.

Job Fair Rescheduled to Thursday, January 6, 2022!

The Durango School District 9-R Job Fair has been rescheduled for Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 10:00AM-2:00PM. The district is hiring a variety of full and part time jobs, as well as 9 - 12 month schedules: Paraprofessionals, Teachers, Substitutes, Bus Drivers, Food/Nutrition Services, Custodians, Counselors, Social Workers, Administrative Assistants.

Sale of Durango School District 9-R Administration Building Completed

Durango School District 9-R and Durango Fire Protection District announce the closing on the sale of the 9-R Administration Building parcel as of December 17th, 2021.
This closing represents the successful transition of a public use asset to another public entity and will continue the use of this building for community services in the years to come.
Buckley Park is not included in this transaction and 9-R will continue to negotiate with the City of Durango on that parcel.

November 2021 Bond Projects Summary

9-R continues to make progress on numerous projects across the district connected to the 4A Bond funding. In all, 14 Bond projects are in progress, with five additional projects slated for 2023 and 2024.

Safety Update for 9-R Parents - December 17, 2021

We have become aware of another Tik Tok challenge, or trend, encouraging students to make poor choices at school today. There have been a number of different trends and challenges, and while this most recent one isn't very specific, it does identify school violence. While there is no direct threat to our schools, we are making all the necessary precautions to ensure a safe and fun last day for our students prior to the holiday break.
