August 2026 bond update: August 2026 bond update: New furniture installed in schools, Three Springs foundation work begins, workforce housing reaches 90% occupancy

Funded by the 2024 Investing in Our Schools bond, these ongoing projects reflect steady progress toward modernizing district infrastructure and supporting staff.

Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC)

The committee continues to meet monthly with the purpose of overseeing the process, validating that spending conforms to ballot language, and reviewing the budget.

Long-Range Planning Committee (LRPC)

The LRPC presented to the DSD Board of Education in June on the topic of school replacement, school consolidation, and boundary analysis — work the committee has been doing for the past ~1.5 years. The LRPC plans to reconvene and continue its efforts once the Board makes decisions on next steps.

Three Springs Elementary School (TSES)

Work on the Wilson Gulch roadway and the school site itself is progressing nicely. The latest milestone achieved was the completion of micropiles, and the construction team began pouring foundations in Area A.

Workforce Housing

The district's housing program currently sits at approximately 90% occupancy. This is an exceptional achievement for a first-year program, and DSD believes there is more demand coming. In response, the district is considering expanding the program and is currently negotiating with local developers to pre-purchase some townhomes. This would create geographic and unit-type diversity in the district's workforce housing portfolio — something DSD heard was important during focus groups. The district expects a decision on this by the Board in August or September.
